Mental Health Counseling services include: child/family relationships, marriage, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Foster/Adoptive services and individual counseling services. Aspen is one of only a handful of providers in the state that specialize in Reactive Attachment Disorder.
Aspen offers both specialized and generalized tutoring. All services are provided by trained educators using scientifically proven and research based methods in one-on-one sessions. Our tutors specialize in working with students who struggle due to AD/HD and Dyslexia. Services are provided in a relaxed home-like environment to promote stress-free learning.
Neurofeedback is a scientifically proven alternative to medication for managing the symptoms of depression, anxiety, memory decline, and much more. This approach allows the trainee’s brain to correct and manage these issues without the side effects of most pharmaceuticals. This service can be paired with traditional counseling services or tutoring services to create a balanced mental wellness approach.
Art Affects @ Aspen seeks to provide a safe artistic outlet within the Sidney/Shelby County community in which children and adults can express themselves in a healthy manner. Art courses are offered quarterly on a range of projects. This is a great opportunity to fulfill homeschool art requirements or for a fun Lady’s Night out.

Who We Are
Aspen Family Center is not a traditional mental health and tutoring establishment. We operate out of a renovated Victorian style house in the court district of Sidney, Ohio. This location provides a relaxing, home-like atmosphere complete with therapy dogs and cats that keep you company in the waiting room.
Our professionals exude the extensive knowledge and training in their areas of expertise necessary to provide great service, and are committed to making the Aspen environment a positive and inspiring experience. We believe our services and setting will have a positive impact on each client's quality of life and personal wellness. It is our wish to make each person feel uniquely valued and safe while within our facility.
Our services reflect our belief that every individual is unique and multifaceted. We individualize a comprehensive treatment plan to each person's or family’s needs, and our range of services is designed to work cohesively to treat the entire individual. This opens up opportunities to treat not only the symptoms, but address the root of the problem or issue as well. For example, a student that is seeking tutoring for academic issues might have an underlying behavior issue that can be addressed with appropriate counseling. A person seeking counseling for depression or anxiety might benefit from Neurofeedback training to help manage the symptoms.
Boys and Girls Groups
Does your child struggle with low self-esteem, self-respect or self-determination? If so, Aspen offers a program, Building Blocks to Self Esteem to help children acquire new skills and enhance their natural talents and abilities. Through weekly group meetings we will provide activities and tools to empower struggling students, decrease destructive behaviors, and give confidence to children through fun projects and engaging group talks.
Boys group meets every Monday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, starting June 17th and ending August 5th.
Girls group meets every Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, starting June 19th and ending August 7th.
Give your child a head start for the upcoming school year!
